What is Black Geyser?

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is an isometric, party and XP based, real-time RPG (with pause option) set in the world of Yerengal. A game that combines immersive graphics and brand-new features with virtues of the classic RPGs we all loved! Solve mysteries, fight epic battles, help beggars and kings alike, outwit swindlers and gods, and never forget: greed has many forms and many names!

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is a unique, indie game, but if you really want us to mention games with a similar gameplay, you can think of the classic CRPGs (released between 1998-2002) and their modern successors. That is, the gameplay is real-time in Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness, but you can pause it at any time. You have one protagonist when you start the game, but further NPCs can join you later, forming a party of up to five characters.

What are the Unique Aspects of the Game?

Greed: Whenever a creature acts greedily in Isilmerald, the power of Zornilsa, the goddess of greed, grows. Your actions are no exception, so keep this in mind when controlling your party! (rewards, looting, donations in temples etc.) As Zornilsa gets stronger, the kingdom becomes even more chaotic directly affecting gameplay

Plant Items: This is basically the opposite of stealing or pickpocketing! It allows the Thief to silently plant certain items into the clothing of other characters. For example, the Thief can hide poisonous or sleeping powder under the armor of guards, which will start to affect them after a designated amount of time

Drying: While brewing allows you to create potions, the process of drying enables the creation of powders. You can use powders directly as an attack in combat or for non-combat purposes. For example, powders can be put directly on the skin of creatures by using the Plant Item skill.

What System Does Black Geyser Use?

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness uses its own rule system. Even though this results in unique features, game mechanics are akin to those found in many other role-playing games. You start with character generation, gain experience points during gameplay and combat, allocate various things (such as skill points) at level-up, etc.

Party and Gameplay

• Party with up to five characters (solo play is also supported)
• Real-time gameplay and combat (with pause feature)
• Characters earn XP, and level-up at certain XP levels
• Free-roaming exploration of wilderness and subterranean areas
• Deep, rich storyline with a lot of side quests and several key battles

• Buy and sell items through merchants and unique NPCs
• Encounter interactions influenced by level of greed
